Port of Houston

The Port of Houston is a primary port of entry for goods coming into the U.S. market from Asia, Europe and South America.  Because the port receives TEU's from all the above regions of the world, it has become one of the most active, growing and strategic ports in North America.  The Houston Port ranks first in the country in terms of foreign tonnage, second in total tonnage, and is in the top 10 as one of the largest ports in the world.

Close to 7000 vessels and 150,000 barges, representing over 100 steamship lines, enter the Port of Houston every year, connecting with over 1000 ports around the world.  The terminals at Barbours Cut and Bayport represent the most modern intermodals on the gulf coast.  The Bayport Terminals current expansion will triple the container handling capacity of the port.
